Takeshi Aono June 19 1936 – April 9 2012
The above is a video I compiled featuring some of my favorite Dragon Ball/Z moments starring the late and talented beyond belief Takeshi Aono.
via AnimeNewsNetwork, April 9th, 2012: "Voice actress Eiko Yamada reported on Tuesday that voice actor Takeshi Aono passed away. Among many other roles, Aono played the grandfather on Chibi Maruko-chan, Shirō Sanada in the Space Battleship Yamato anime works, Rihaku in Fist of the North Star, and Kami-Sama and King Piccolo in Dragon Ball.

Update: Aono passed away due to multiple cerebral infarction after an aortic aneurysm at 4:38 p.m. on Monday, April 9. He was 76.
Aono had stepped down from his Chibi Maruko-chan role in 2010 due to his declining health and long struggle with illness. Among other roles, he dubbed the role of Christopher Lloyds Doc character in the Back to the Future films and Joe Pescis films in their Japanese releases."
More information, via Wikipedia: "In May 2010, Aono checked into a hospital for an aortic dissection and suffered a stroke shortly thereafter, thus ending his career as a voice actor.
His ongoing roles of Tomozō Sakura (Chibi Maruko-chan) and Kami (Dragon Ball Z Kai) have been taken over by Bin Shimada, while his role of Mihawk (One Piece) has been taken over by Hirohiko Kakegawa.
On the afternoon of April 9, 2012, at approximately 4:38 PM, Aono suffered a bout of post-operative multiple cerebral infarction and was found dead. Voice actress Eiko Hisamura announced Aonos death via her Twitter feed. Aono was 75 years old at the time of his death."
I dont really know what else to add. I hope my video speaks for itself. (As poorly made as it arguably is.) Im going to miss your voice and your talent, Mr. Aono. And although youve gone, the memories youve left with me and so many others will last forever.
RIP
